Our Current Initiatives
Eastvale Kiwanis at its core is an investment club. True, we don’t buy stocks or bonds, but we do invest our time, talent and treasure in the youth of our city and we strive to make a positive difference in their lives.
Our club believes that investing in the kids of our community is the best way to make sure Eastvale remains a great place to grow up and grow old in.
We are always looking for new and creative ways to serve the children of Eastvale. If you have an idea you’d like to share, give us a shout!
Today A Reader,
Tomorrow A Leader Program
Club member Fran Rife is a kinder teacher at Rondo School of Discovery and was inspired to create this program to help our elementary school libraries purchase much needed books. Eastvale Kiwanis believes that a love for reading and access to great books is an essential part of a young person’s education. We are happy to report that in the coming months we will be donating funds to every Eastvale elementary school library!
Ike Bootsma Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established to memorialize the contributions of Eastvale Mayor and long time Eastvale Kiwanis member Ike Bootsma. Each year we award scholarships to graduating Seniors at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. Recipients are drawn from members of ERHS Key Club, the high school group Eastvale Kiwanis sponsors.
Roadway Adoption Street Clean Up
Eastvale Kiwanis hosts a monthly street clean up of Scholar Way. This event gives members of the community and students an opportunity to earn service hours and help keep our city looking its best. Eastvale Kiwanis was part of this program’s founding and we’ve been keeping Scholar Way litter free for over 6 years!
Eleanor Roosevelt Key Club
We are the sponsor organization for one of the largest club’s on the ERHS campus. Our Key Club students participate in clean up events, raise money for the pediatric trauma program, and also get to help decorate the Kiwanis Rose Parade float. If you are or have a high school student you should consider joining. Key Club kids are some of the most awesome young people you will ever meet!
Augustine Ramirez Builders Club
This is our outreach to middle school students. Similar to Key Club, members have opportunities to hone their leadership skills, raise money for charity, and learn about ways to make their community stronger. It is youth led and youth driven.
Scouting Troops 251 and 251G
Eastvale Kiwanis is the charter organization for two amazing Eastvale Scout Troops. We jointly plan community service projects, support Eagle Scout Projects, and are ready to assist in any way the Troop needs. We have some amazing Scouts in Eastvale and we are here to help them on their path to Eagle!
Presidential Volunteer Service Awards
Eastvale Kiwanis is a certifying organization for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding community service volunteers. We make this available to all of the youth volunteers our Club works with.
Rondo School of Discovery Dual Immersion Program
Rondo School of Discovery is home to CNUSD’s first dual immersion Mandarin program. Our Mandarin speaking club members currently support the teachers and students with monetary donations and they also volunteer their time sharing their knowledge of Chinese culture, language, and history.
Monthly Meetings:
Eastvale Kiwanis meets at 7:00 PM on the first Monday of each month. Our meetings are held at 14560 Schleisman Road (the Bootsma Ranch) and typically last about an hour. We’d love to have you stop by and learn more about how you can make a difference in our club and community.
